Frangella Italian Market is the dream business established in 1993 by Gina and Francesco Frangella, originally from Calabria, Italy. As a pharmacist and a former mechanic, we teamed up in life and in business to serve real Italian cooking to our neighbors near and far by opening Frangella Italian Market in Palos Park, Illinois.
By listening to our customers, we brought in the imported items you wanted. Our mom-and-pop store isn’t looking to compete with the chain grocers. At Frangella, you can find authentic and hard-to-find foods and products — unique flours, rare cheeses, pizzelle makers, and Fra Noi magazine. Our aisles are stocked with imported pops, oils, vinegar, pasta, cookies, candy, coffee, and giardiniera. Looking for grappa, anisette, or limoncello? You’ll find all of that here. We also carry select imported beers, wines, and liqueurs. We carry a complete line of frozen pasta — tortellini, gnocchi, and ravioli — in a variety of fillings.
Our recipes and traditional cooking bring the taste of Calabria to your table. We understand that a meal is a celebration of the people it is prepared for, and we carry on that spirit of the Italian culture when we cook for you. We always cook our food at Frangella Italian Market with the same special care that we do at home. Our homemade sauces are cooked for hours, just like grandma’s. We pride ourselves in daily preparing our roast beef and meatballs in-house and in our own special recipe for Italian sausage. Among the many favorites are pasta frittata, chicken parmesan, stuffed peppers, eggplant parmesan, soups, pizza, arancini (rice balls) and of course, our much-loved lasagna.
